Perhaps the most significant change that I realize with myself is my self-esteem.
I used to think that our identity will remain as long as we live but now I know that this is not true. As we grow up, we tend to be unsure of our identity. We change ourselves according to our environment. Such as in schools, at home, with friends. We may act differently depending on who we're with. We change our attitude, how we speak, making up a whole new identity for ourselves.
But sometimes we just never seem to realize this.
This is when the problem comes...
Some people claim that when we have more than one identity, we're said to be two-faced or even bipolar. truth is, I agree that people have 3 faces. one where they expose to the general audience, another for the close-bonded ones and lastly for their-selves. what do you think?
I used to feel like no one was like me, as if I'm one of a kind. That I'm this unique species of my own. So I often feel like if you lose me, its your loss. This sounds super arrogant but this was exactly me. However, now I never look at myself that way. I see others being way way better than me. Always. I guess you can say that this may relate to my growing up experience. We're often compared, like who's better than who. or who's prettier than who. or who's smarter than who. The judgement is often so crystal clear that it slowly lessens your self-esteem.
This is exactly how I feel.
